About

Hello! My name is Karina Cutler-Lake and I am a Professor of Art at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where I have taught graphic design since 2004. I’m a graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (B.A. 1996) and the University of Iowa (M.A. Library Science 1998, M.F.A. Art 2004). All of the visual work I do traverses the continuum between art and design—for me, one does not exist without the other. My research and creative interests include mapping, typography, visual record-keeping, interpreting sense of place, sewing, designing patterns for the fabric that I use to sew, and, as ever, relentlessly looking things up.
